This free calculator is a fast, simple online calculator for everyday maths – adding up bills, splitting costs, working out discounts and percentages, or checking homework. It works like the calculator on your phone or desk, with large buttons, a clear display, memory keys, a calculation history and full keyboard support. Unlike many basic calculators, this one follows the correct order of operations: multiplication and division are done before addition and subtraction, so 2 + 3 × 4 gives 14, not 20.
How to Use the Online Calculator

How the Percentage Key Works
The % key works like a standard desk calculator, which makes everyday percentage sums quick:
- Add a percentage: 200 + 10 % = 220 (adds 10% of 200). Useful for VAT, tips or price increases.
- Subtract a percentage: 200 − 10 % = 180. Useful for discounts.
- Percentage of a number: 50 × 10 % = 5 (10% of 50).
- On its own: 25 % = 0.25.

Order of Operations
The calculator follows the standard BODMAS / PEMDAS rule for the four basic operations: multiplication and division first, then addition and subtraction, working from left to right. Examples:

Using the Memory Keys
Memory is handy when you need to add up several separate results. For example, to total the cost of 3 items at £4.50 and 2 items at £7.25: type 3 × 4.50 = and press M+, then 2 × 7.25 = and press M+, then press MR to recall the total of 28. The "M =" indicator shows what is stored.
