Welcome to CalculatorOnline ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use our website at calculatoronline.tools, and how it is protected. We have kept it short and specific to what the site actually does.
Summary
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
- Almost all tools run entirely in your browser – your numbers, text and files never leave your device.
- The AI writing tools send the text you submit to Google’s Gemini API through our server to generate a result. We do not store that text.
- Messages sent through the contact form are stored only so we can reply.
Tools That Run in Your Browser
Calculators, converters, image tools, PDF tools, text tools and SEO tools process everything locally using JavaScript in your browser. We do not upload, store or see the files, text or numbers you enter into these tools.
AI Writing Tools
The AI Content Detector, AI Essay Writer, Plagiarism Checker, Text Summarizer, Grammar Checker and Paraphrasing Tool need an AI model to work. When you use them:
- The text and options you submit are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards them to the Google Gemini API and returns the result to you.
- We do not save your text or the AI’s response on our server, and we do not use them for any other purpose.
- Google processes the request under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service. Google may use content submitted through free API services to improve its products, so please do not submit confidential or personal information to the AI tools.
- If you choose to add your own Gemini API key in the Grammar Checker or Paraphrasing Tool, the key is saved only in your browser’s local storage and your text is sent directly from your browser to Google. You can remove the key at any time by clearing your browser data for this site.
- To prevent abuse, our server temporarily keeps a count of AI requests per IP address for 10 minutes. The IP address itself is not stored in readable form.
Contact Form
If you send us a message, we receive your name, email address and message so that we can reply. These are stored securely on our server outside the public website and are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and no longer than 12 months. We never sell or share them.
Server Logs
Like every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records standard technical information when pages are requested – such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used only to keep the website secure and working, and are deleted automatically by the host.
Cookies and Local Storage
CalculatorOnline does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Some tools use your browser’s local storage to remember preferences or an API key you choose to save; this information stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Third-Party Services
To load quickly and work well, our pages use a few trusted third-party services. Your browser connects to them directly, so they can see your IP address:
- Google Fonts and cdnjs / jsDelivr – fonts, icons and open-source code libraries.
- Google Gemini API – AI writing tools, as described above.
- open.er-api.com – latest exchange rates for the currency converter.
- Google Cloud Storage – downloads the image model used by the background remover (your images stay on your device).
We do not currently show advertisements or use analytics. If we add them in future, we will update this policy first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Data Security
The whole website is served over HTTPS with modern security headers. The few pieces of data that do reach our server (AI requests in transit and contact messages) are handled only by secured server-side code and are never publicly accessible.
Your Rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, or to delete it, by contacting us. In practice, the only personal information we can hold is a contact-form message you sent us.
Children’s Privacy
CalculatorOnline is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
