Daily Water Intake Calculator — How Much Water Should You Drink?
Our water intake calculator uses your body weight, activity level, climate and gender to calculate your personalised daily water requirement. The base formula uses 35ml per kg of body weight, then adjusts for physical activity and climate conditions — giving you a more accurate result than the generic "8 glasses a day" rule.
Staying well-hydrated is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Water regulates body temperature, flushes toxins, aids digestion, lubricates joints, and is essential for virtually every cellular process in your body. Dehydration as mild as 1–2% of body weight can impair physical performance and mental focus.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much water should I drink per day in India?
In India's warm climate, the average adult should drink 2.5 to 3.5 litres of water per day. This is higher than temperate countries due to higher temperatures and sweating. Active individuals and those who work outdoors need even more.
Is 2 litres of water enough per day?
For a sedentary adult in a cool climate, 2 litres may be sufficient. However, for most Indians — given our warm climate and active lifestyles — 2.5 to 3.5 litres is recommended. Your exact requirement depends on your weight and activity level.
What are signs of dehydration?
Common signs include dark yellow urine, dry mouth, headaches, fatigue, dizziness and reduced urine output. If your urine is pale yellow or clear, you are well-hydrated. Dark yellow or amber urine is a sign you need to drink more water immediately.
Does tea and coffee count towards daily water intake?
Yes, partially. Tea and coffee contribute to your fluid intake, but caffeine has a mild diuretic effect. It is best to count plain water as your primary source and consider tea/coffee as a supplement rather than a replacement.
